Winter Testing 2018 Calafat & Valencia Spain
Calafat & Valencia circuits in Spain have recently been the host to the Young East Midlands Motorcycle Racer Kyle Ryde; this was for his winter testing programme, prior to his season opener at his favourite local circuit of Donington Park on the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
This season sees Kyle return to the British racing scene after two difficult and at times; very stressing seasons in the World Supersport 600cc class. Kyle’s return sees him move up a machine class into the ‘Blue Riband’ of British racing, which is the ‘British Superbike’ series.
Kyle will be riding the Yamaha R1 of the former British Superbike rider Craig Fitzpatrick’s, as the Derbyshire based team of ‘CF Motorsport Yamaha team’ progress to the Superbike class.
Kyle, Craig and the team had success within previous classes in the British series in 2014 and then finally finishing second in the 2015 British Supersport class together, this was prior to Kyle’s move into the World Championships. However; Kyle and the team are now ready for this new challenge for all and are so excited about the team all coming together again for the new season ahead of them.
So; in order for Kyle to gel with the CF Motorsport team again and also get used to the new Superbike machine, they have had several days of testing at the Calafat Circuit, which is located in the town of L’Ametlla de Mar situated on the centre of the Costa Dorada in Spain, from here; the team then move on to the Valencia circuit for a few more days of testing and team bonding, prior to their return to the UK
Kyle’s reaction to this new type of machinery was awesome and his statement that it’s defiantly a lot quicker than all of the previous types of bikes that he has ever previously raced is testament to the team’s excellent work that they do to prepare these machines to a high standard for racing.
