Round seven of the World Supersport Championships has taken place this weekend at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli near to Rimini in Italy.
Kyle Ryde the East Midlands young Twice British Champion was taking part in this World Class event and was looking to improve on his last meeting which was his home round at Donington Park a few weeks ago.
Free Practice & Qualifying
Kyle again was finding it difficult to attain the settings he would have liked on the Kawasaki machine; in order to improve on his Free practise times and was trailing around 28th position after the first practice session, he did manage to improve on his timing and after several pit sessions on the 3rd free practice he did rise to 18th place on the Leader board.
Going into Superpole SP1 and early on in this session; Kyle was making the pace for SP2 as he was following the South African Morais and the pair were going well, but unfortunately Kyle dropped off the pace and back of Morais and with Morais through to SP1 Kyle had to settle for 9th position, placing him 19th on the grid for the Sunday Lunchtime race.
As the race started Kyle got an excellent slingshot and by lap one he had moved up four places and was in a strong position in fifteenth place battling with Estonian rider Soomer. He carried this position fight on and by lap 5 of this 19 lap race he was now up to 12th place with the Japanese rider Watanabe creeping into the frame and putting Kyle under pressure for his position, several other riders managed to pass Kyle during the remaining laps and on the very last lap of the race, Dutch rider Hartog also managed to squeeze pass Kyle pushing him back to 14th position, but with all things considered a worthy effort by this young rider.
